I had the opportunity to attend a local food tour hosted by the Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market (OSFM) recently! In this post, I’ll be sharing some pictures of the event in hopes to show how amazing these local vendors are. Not only are their products fresh and delicious, they’re also made (or grown) with passion. It definitely makes buying local all the better. I would like to extend a huge thank you to the vendors who gifted us with various samples. Also a big thank you to April from OSFM who was our tour guide along the way!
1. Sunworks Farm
I always love talking to the owners of Sunworks Farm. They’ve been operating since 1999 and they’re passionate about their work and products.

2. Golomein
We all know how much I love Golomein… They sell their noodle packs at the market, grab some for those nights you don’t wanna cook dinner! I also have a blog post about Golomein here.
Johwanna (owner) is clearly a whiz with pickling and preserving. She allowed us to sample some salted caramel pear butter with marscapone grilled cheese. It was so delicious!
Where has YEG Market Pizza been all my life?! Their pizza crusts are made with 5 ingredients – so simple but so tasty. Nancy (owner aka “the pizza lady”) was so sweet and provided us with many samples. I took one pizza home and highly recommend it for an easy meal. Each pizza only takes 15 min or so in the oven!
And that wraps up the 10 stops on the OSFM local food tour! There are obviously an abundance of other vendors at the market so be sure to check it out for yourself. They’re open year-round, every Saturday from 8AM-3PM. A bonus during the winter months is that they’re located indoors! More information can be found on their website.
