Chickie Dough (closed)

I am a sucker for cookie dough and anything cookie dough flavoured! Luckily, there seems to be a bigger trend of edible cookie dough coming around…but even with all this edible cookie dough biz popping up, I have yet to find one that I’ve really loved. So, when Debbie from Chickie Dough reached out to me, asking me to try their new feature flavour, I was more than happy to try something new.

Chickie Dough isn’t technically cookie dough.. BUT, it tastes just like it and best of all, it’s healthy and guilt-free because it’s actually made of chickpeas! Yes, Chickie Dough is a dessert style hummus and looks, tastes and feels just like edible cookie dough. It’s also vegan, gluten, preservative and dairy free. All in all, Chickie Dough can be seen as a healthy and delicious alternative to edible cookie dough and you’re truly missing out if you haven’t tried any yet.

Aside from the fact that’s it’s basically guilt free to eat,  I also really love that Chickie Dough is moist and creamy. So moist and delicious that I literally ate it by the spoonful.. oops? Sometimes, I find that edible cookie dough can be dry and doesn’t match the texture of the real stuff. With its creaminess though, Chickie Dough is great to eat alone, as a dip or even a spread.

After trying July’s feature flavour – Nanaimo – I was excited to see what was in store for August. For the month of August, Chickie Dough’s feature flavour is SMORES! A perfect flavor to end off the summer, especially with cooler nights. The Smores flavor is made of chickpeas, coconut milk, brown sugar, vanilla extract, gluten-free graham crackers, carob chips and marshmallows.

This feature flavour will be available starting August 12th, exclusively at the Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market. They also always have other flavours like chocolate chip and peanut butter on hand too. Individual containers are $6 or you can buy 3 for $15.

If you haven’t already, I highly encourage you to give Chickie Dough a try. You really can’t go wrong with a healthy treat that will still satisfy the sweet craving. Catch them at the Old Strathcona Farmer’s Market every Saturday and keep an eye on their IG, Facebook or Twitter for more updates! Special thank you to Debbie for sending this flavour out to me.

Disclaimer: Chickie Dough provided me with this feature flavor in exchange for a blog post but all thoughts and opinions remain my own.
