Here’s a quick post on my visit to Rocky Mountain Icehouse for a recent lunch date with my cousin!
I really wish I stumbled upon this place sooner, the food is so good! And the decor is a mix between cozy and chill. The wooden touches and all really make it feel like a cabin stay in the mountains, except I’m right in downtown lol.
My cousin and I started with Scooby Snacks ($13) which was basically just like a play on baked potatoes. It’s baked baby potatoes that were served with bacon, cheese, green onions and a sour cream dip. SOOOO good. I love potatoes and this was just so delicious. It’s perfect for sharing as well!

For myself, I ordered the small Jambalaya which really didn’t feel small at all. Yay for leftovers! It came with chicken, sausage and ham amongst other veggies. I’m not sure if I’ve ever had “authentic” jambalaya so I’m not sure if I can really compare it to anything. Regardless, I thought it was good and really enjoyed the dish. The dish was topped with hushpuppies – basically, deep fried mac and cheese balls. My advice? If you’re unsure of what to get, you can’t really go wrong with Jambalaya.

My cousin ordered the Cider Chicken Sandwich. This sandwich was super saucy but it was extremely delicious. I would definitely consider ordering this next time. Unfortunately, I forgot to snap a picture of this one so you’re gonna have to try it for yourself!
Overall, my meal at the Rocky Mountain Icehouse was fantastic. I loved the comfort food that the menu offers and I enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. My only complaint was that service was a little slow.. but there were only 2 servers during the lunch hour. I hope to come back in the future and try out more of their menu!
